Frequently Asked Questions

Do I require additional types of insurance?

Although not a necessity, it is recommended that the following types of insurance should be obtained;

Trip Interruption/Trip Cancellation Insurance

This insurance provides financial protection in the event that a family crisis or an illness in the immediate family would necessitate you either leaving the caravan or being unable to take part in the caravan. As there are a number of different types of policies to cover this situation, it is suggested that you shop around to get the best possible coverage to suit your situation. Normally this is obtained prior to a deposit being received, in order to comply with this requirement your deposit has not been entered into the books yet but has been put in a trust account until we receive notification by mail or email that you either have it or are waiving getting it.

Emergency Roadside Service

Since the route for this trip takes us through some very sparsely populated regions, a vehicle breakdown could necessitate your vehicle being towed great distances in order to get the necessary repairs done. As some emergency roadside service policies restrict the tow distance covered by the policy ( possible as short as 150 miles or 250 km) please check your policy if you already have one to determine if it has sufficient coverage. If your policy doesn't or you don't have one, we suggest you obtain one with sufficient coverage for this trip. If a member of Good Sam, they have one of the best Emergency Roadside Services Available.

Health Insurance

Since each of us will be traveling in areas that we don't normally reside in as such it is a good idea to obtain Health and Hospital Insurance in case of an illness that would require either medical attention or hospitalization. This policy should cover the full period of time you will be away from your home.
